Anaheim Angels - Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Home Plate Gate
Official Team Name - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
In 1961, the team joined Major League Baseball as the expansion Los Angeles Angels, playing at Los Angeles' Wrigley Field. In 1965 the team became the California Angels and in 1966 the Halos moved to Anaheim Staidum. While owned by a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company, the team changed its name to the Anaheim Angels in 1997. In 2005, new owner Arte Moreno changed the official team name to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Moreno wished to draw revenue from the larger L.A. market, while keeping the team's lease agreement with Anaheim.
