At any given time, there are 68 horses on Disneyland's King Arthur Carrousel. According to Cast Members, Disneyland has approximately 100 unique, expertly carved antique carousel horses. The extras are kept backstage, as horses must be pulled out of rotation for repainting or repair. Since no two horses are identical, most were given names to fit that specific horse's personality.
