King Richard
King Arthur Carrousel - King Richard: Named for King Richard I, also known as Richard the Lionheart, famed for his leadership during the Third Crusade. The carousel horse dressed in royal blue and red, bears a seal depicting a standing lion - in honor of Richard.
Note: Historically, King Richard's seal (English seal) features three gold lions (passant) on a bright red standard (or a red cross on a white standard). The standing lion or rampant lion featured on the carousel horse's blanket, is a sign of courage, bravery & royalty - and has been used in facing pairs to also denote King Richard or his army.
