The carnivorous Cobra Plant fits right into the Frankenweenie-inspired garden. Also known as the California Pitcher Plant, the snake shaped plants feed on insects that become trapped inside its hollow stem.

HGTV's Electrifying Garden featured several poisonous plants like the Poinsettia, which is usually associated with the Holiday Season. Eating Poinsettias can cause nausea and vomitting, but is only toxic if eaten in very large quantities.

HGTV's Electrifying Garden featured several invasive plants like English Ivy. Beautiful when maintained, when English Ivy grows unruly, it can engulf and choke out other nearby plants.

HGTV's Electrifying Garden includes nocturnal plants like Flowering Jasmine, whose sweet smelling flowers only bloom at night. Not dangerous to humans, Frankenweenie's Sparky and Mr. Whiskers should avoid Jasmine plants, since it can be toxic to dogs and cats.

The Philodendrons in HGTV's Electrifying Garden can grow almost anywhere and dominate an ecosystem. Eating philodendrons can cause a burning sensation in the mouth and throat. For people with a specific allergy, just touching the plant can cause redness, swelling and severe skin irritation.

Clivia, or African Bush Lilies, are another toxic addition to HGTV's Electrifying Garden. These beautiful lilies thrive in dark spaces and contain poisonous alkaloids that cause nausea and vomitting if eaten.

Tropical vines called Monstera were added to HGTV's Electrifying Garden because of their toxicity and invasive growth. Monstera can grow as tall as 20 meters (over 60 feet) and its sap & unripe fruit will cause skin irritation if handled.

The beautiful Hydrangea is another poisonous addition to HGTV's Electrifying Garden. Though it isn't deadly, eating hydrangea flowers can cause convulsions, loss of breath and coma.

Another toxic plant from HGTV's Electrifying Garden is Dieffenbachia or the Mother-in-Law plant. Known for the striped or mottled patterns on its broad leaves, eating Diffenbachia can cause a burning sensation in one's mouth or erythema (burning or swelling of the skin).
