King Arthur Carrousel Horses > Looff > Looff

King Arthur Carrousel - Looff: Looff can be found with an ornate eagle shaped cantle and scalloped red saddle straps with yellow and gold trim. He is named for one of America's most famous carousel carvers and builders, Charles I.D. Looff.

When passing through Ellis Island in 1870, an immigration official told Looff that a middle name was required for his personal I.D. or identification. Looff did not have a middle name, so he chose I.D., his full name officially becoming Charles I.D. Looff.
