King Arthur Carrousel - Georgina: Georgina's elaborate trappings feature a red and green paint job, trimmed out in gold and black. Georgina also has a layered blanket, featuring a checkerboard, fringe and hanging bells. Drapery hangs from the cantle and there are three plumes attached to the breastband.
The triple ostrich plume is a symbol used in heraldry, signifying obedience and serenity. The crest of three plumes is also used as a symbol for the Prince of Wales (heir to the British throne). The crest originated with Edward the Black Prince, who adopted the triple plume symbol from his mother's house (House of Hainault). The Black Prince was the first Prince of Wales to have died before ascending to the throne, his seal eventually became the symbol of the British prince in waiting.
