Mara Script - Above the Temple Entrance

There is a warning to all enter the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. Carved into the stone above the temple's entrance, the Mara script reads - BEWARE THE EYE OF MARA.

As you step into the temple you'll notice a mural depicting Mara and three destinies (eternal youth, riches or knowledge), one of which you may receive if you are worthy.

Mara Script - First Chamber

To the right of the Mara mural you'll notice Mara script going around the top of the chamber.

The script reads: LOOK NOT INTO THE EYE OF MARA AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF ETERNAL YOUTH EARTHLY RICHES OR FUTURE KNOWLEDGE.

To the right of the Mara mural you'll notice Mara script going around the top of the round chamber.

Mara Script - Main Hallway

After leaving the first chamber, guests will come across a full wall of Mara script.

It reads: IT IS FORBIDDEN TO PASS BEYOND THIS CHAMBER WITHOUT A SERVANT OF MARA TO GUIDE YOUR PATH HEED THIS WARNING OR RISK INCURRING THE WRATH OF MARA FOR DOOM AWAITS THE UNBELIEVER IN THE DARKNESS BEYOND.

Hidden Disney: Look for the special Mara script "MM" - placed along the queue as a tribute to Mickey Mouse! ºoº

Mara Script - Stone Relief

Along the main hallway there is a stone relief of Mara. The Mara script above that statue reads: ONLY THE BLIND SHALL SEE.

Follow the queue to find a sitting statue. Above it the mara script reads: EARTHLY RICHES.

Mara Script - Water Fountains

When you see two water fountains you must choose wisely, as the Mara script reads: ONLY ONE SPRING CAN RESTORE YOUTH AND VIGOR CHOOSE WISELY.

The wall to the right of the water fountains reads: DRINK DEEPLY THE WATER OF LIFE.

In the next hallway is a large stone wheel propped up against a wall. It reads: THE GATES OF DOOM ARE EVER OPEN.

TRUE REWARDS AWAIT THOSE WHO CHOOSE WISELY.

Mara Script - Cavern Opening

As you enter the bat caverns you'll notice Mara script around the cavern opening. It is missing some words where the opening seems to have been blasted in. What can be seen reads (underlined is what might be missing):

Danger! Do Not Touch Pole!

Hidden Disney: In the spike room you'll see a pole that says, "Danger! Do not touch pole!" When operational, guests can push or pull the pole, initiating a loud crashing noise that makes it seem as if the ceiling was going to drop down.

Mara script on the well cover reads: (top) THE PURE OF HEART ARE PROTECTED BENEATH THE WATCHFUL EYE OF MARA. (bottom) WOE TO THE UNWORTHY WHO PASS BENEATH. (corners) PLOW THE FIELD / PLANT THE SEED / REAP THE HARVEST / TRIBUTE TO MARA.

Caution! Handling Fragile Artifacts

Hidden Disney: In the large round well room, there is a rope that hangs down into the well. A sign next to the rope reads CAUTION! Do Not Pull Rope! Handling Fragile Artifacts.

Mischievous guests may tug on the rope and create a little havoc for the archaeologist in the well.

Eeyore Parking Sign

Hidden Disney: The Indiana Jones adventure was built over the old Disneyland parking lot. The Eyeore section parking sign sits in the scaffolding above the projection room in tribute.

If you ask one of the CMs nicely, they might shine a light on it for you!

Projection Room - Tablets & Altar

There are three tablets and an altar at the end of the projection room, under the movie screen.

The tablets read: THE CHAMBER OF EARTHLY RICHES / WEALTH BEYOND YOUR WILDEST IMAGINATION LIES WITHIN AND IS YOURS FOR THE TAKING BUT BEWARE THE EYES OF MARA / THE OBSERVATORY OF THE FUTURE / THE FOUNTAIN OF ETERNAL YOUTH / ONE SIP FROM THE ETERNAL SPRING SHALL RENEW VIGOR AND YOUTHFUL SPIRIT BUT BEWARE THE EYES OF MARA / BEHOLD THE AMULET OF MARA AND YOU SHALL SEE VISIONS OF THE FUTURE BUT BEWARE THE EYES OF MARA

Mara Script - Walkway Ramp

ONLY THE PURE OF HEART SHALL GAIN ADMITTANCE INTO THE CHAMBER OF DESTINY.

Mara Script - Upstairs Queue

MARA SHALL GUIDE YOU THROUGH THE DOORWAY OF YOUR MOST SECRET DESIRE IN THE CHAMBER OF DESTINY.

Mara Script - Loading Area

BEWARE THE EYE OF MARA ONE LOOK WILL LEAD THROUGH THE TUNNEL OF TORMENT TO THE GATES OF DOOM.
