Zocalo Park: Found in Frontierland during Disneyland's Halloween Time celebration, Zocalo Park is a tribute to Dia de los Muertos. There are a pair of stylized Mickeys hidden with all of the culturally inspired decorations.
Celebrated on November 1st & 2nd, the Day of the Dead and All Soul's Day, are traditional days to honor family and friends who have died. In Mexico and Latin America, Dia de los Muertos combines influences from indigenous cultures & Catholic traditions. Also observed in the Philippines, Spain, Brazil (Dia de Finados) and certain parts of Europe, the Day of the Dead is celebrated with parades, festivals and gatherings at cemeteries - visiting the graves of loved ones. In most cultures there is a sense of filial piety, as families create decorative altars and make special offerings, to honor relatives & ancestors.
