Neil's Valentine's Day gift!

I meant to post this back in February...

I wanted to give Neil something special for Valentine's Day. I came across the oneshare.com website. What a fabulous idea! But I didn't want to pay a total of $124 ($39 transfer fee... yikes) when I could open my own investment account somewhere and get a frame much cheaper outside. So I choose sharebuilder.com to buy my stocks from. I already had a ton of Disney scrapbooking supplies and bought a nice frame from Michael's craft store with a 40% off coupon. With the money I saved I was able to buy 2 shares of Disney stock and still have money left over! I didn't have time to send away for an actual stock certificate since it was just days before Valentine's Day... so I printed the purchase. Here is the finished product!

Neil loved it! We plan on buying more Disney stock in the near future! :)

DL Hidden Mickeys in the newspaper!

Yesterday I received an email from staff writer, Roger Showley, from our San Diego Union Tribune (major San Diego newspaper)! He wanted to ask a few questions about Hidden Mickeys at Disneyland for a piece running in the currents in a couple weeks...how exciting! I emailed back with my cell number, and he called this morning. I was so nervous...my voice shook a little, and I stumbled over my words a bit (how embarrassing)! He asked how we started the project and about us. He also mentioned he spoke with Steven Barrett! I can't wait to see the article...I will be sure to post it here on the website!

Available for pre-order...

Steven M. Barrett's new book Disneyland's Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to the Disneyland Resort's Best-Kept Secrets is available for pre-order at amazon.com now! I've already pre-ordered our copy!

I also ordered the book 101 Things You Never Knew About Disneyland: An Unauthorized Look At The Little Touches And Inside Jokes by Kevin Yee and Jason Schultz at amazon.com. We enjoyed this book! Like the title says...it's filled with lots of interesting facts and background information about Disneyland we never knew!

On a personal note...I'm 38 weeks pregnant! Our little prince is due on the 28th! We've been hard at work renovating the upstairs of our house since February, and it's almost done! My last day at work is next Friday. We haven't been able to go to Disneyland in months, and we miss it! But we look forward to the day we can take our little one up there! That will be a magical day! My personal website/journal is iheartkitty.com if you would like to check in on us and baby!

PS...Happy Mother's Day to all you Disney mommies out there!

I've updated a bit! Added a new section under Hidden Mickeys for the Grand Californian Hotel. Added a few pictures under Fastansyland, Disney Characters, DCA, Disney Dining and Under Construction. I think I'm going to work on separating DCA and Disney Dining into different sections when I have more pictures. I'm still updating...so keep checking back!

The Art of Disney: Magic
Also in August, the Postal Service honors the theme of magic as imagined by Walt Disney and his studio animators in the fourth in the Art of Disney stamp pane series. Now, with help from a few beloved Disney characters, it's easy to add a dash of magic to your cards and letters with stamps that feature Dumbo and Timothy Mouse, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, Mickey Mouse as "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," and Aladdin and Genie.
