The Disney Channel's Phineas & Ferb have taken over the Little League World Series! 2011 LLWS broadcasts on ABC or ESPN open with baseball-themed versions of Today is Gonna Be a Great Day, the Phineas & Ferb theme song. In addition to the remixed theme song, new segments and breaks are introduced with animated Phineas & Ferb bumpers.
The special Little League version of Today is Gonna Be a Great Day was written and perfomed by Jaret Reddick of the American punk band Bowling for Soup. Prior to the show's initial airing, Reddick watched episodes from the first season. He then wrote the original Phineas & Ferb theme by including specific episode plots in the lyrics. For the Little League World Series, Reddick infused lyrics specific to the annual summer event in Williamsport, Pennsylvannia. In addition to writing and performing songs for the Phineas & Ferb series, Reddick voices a rock star character named Danny, the music shop owning Love Händel frontman.
